Mercy - Community Connections

God’s solution for our sin, and for our deepest need in time and eternity, has been to regard us as valuable as “His holy precious blood and His innocent suffering and death.” And this frees us to regard those around us in the same way—to acknowledge, to recognize, to value, to listen, to forgive, to have compassion, to speak up for, to act in mercy.

Community Connections Team

Immanuel has many members who are already making connections with the Sandy Community. Our church vision is to see the connections grow. The goal of the Community Connections Team is to reach out to our community and find more opportunities for our members to share our mission beyond our congregation. One of these connections will be helping the Sandy Community Church serve a hot meal on the first Friday of every month @ 6:00 p.m.

This commitment involves preparing and cooking the food, making coffee, preparing the condiments, setting up and taking down table and chairs and cleaning up afterwards. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to volunteer up one Friday night a month. Please contact Debbie Hunter if you would like to help. There will be reminder phone calls made the week of the dinner. Please let Debbie know ahead of time if you cannot make it: community connections

Currently, the Community Connections Team consists of Jean Whisenant and Debbie Hunter. This team needs to grow. We need you! Please let us know if you are interested in helping Immanuel connect with our community and our community to connect with Immanuel!

Elders

An Elder at Immanuel Lutheran Church is a person who, by God’s grace, endeavors to be for others in Jesus name and as such has been set apart by the congregation to assist the Pastor in attending to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people.

The Board of Elders 2011/2012 consists of Al Fry (chairman), Paul Laugavitz, Don Lofthus, Ed Pitzrick and Dwight Riegert. As elders we assist the Pastor in attending to the physical emotional and spiritual needs of the congregation.  Each family of our congregation has an assigned Elder. The Elders want to encourage you to contact your elder, the Pastor or any of the other Elders at any time for assistance and prayer.  We look forward to our contact with you and growing together in our faith in Jesus Christ our Savior:
